Getaway – Knott’s Berry Farm

Did you know that all Boysenberry’s in the world can be traced back to Knott’s Berry Farm? Knott's Berry Farm is a foodie destination in SoCal.

If you’re sitting there wondering what Knott’s Berry Farm is – Knott’s Berry Farm is a world-renowned theme park built from the humblest of beginnings. What started as a small berry farm soon grew into a family theme park destination now bursting with attractions and entertainment for all ages, including first-class roller coasters, stage shows, interactive experiences, delicious food creations and family-friendly fun.

On our last trip to Southern California, we were fortunate enough to visit Knott’s Berry Farm and holy moly, it was heaven. We arrived a few days before Hangtime was open, a new roller coaster & the only dive coaster on the west coast, so we were a little disappointed. However, walking through the park immediately lifted our spirits.

We arrived right around lunch time and immediately was on a quest to find lunch. Upon entering the park, we immediately walked through the Ghost Town. About 500 feet in, we both looked at each other and said “WHAT IS THAT SMELL?!.” The barbecue smell was strong and it smelled so. good. We stumbled upon Fireman’s BBQ and WOW! we’re so happy we did. We ordered a flank steak sandwich and it was honestly one of the best steak sandwiches I’ve ever had. I couldn’t get over that this was at a theme park – the quality was superb and the meat was extremely fresh.

After our sandwich we rode on a couple of rides – Bigfoot Rapids, Pony Express, & the Calico Mine Ride. We were then looking for our first sweet treat. Since Knott’s is known for all things Boysenberry – we decided to get something with this delicious berry. Found at the Churro Factory, situated next to the Ghost Town Candy shop – Boysenberry & Vanilla twisted soft serve. H O L Y. C O W. It’s amazing.

We spent the next few hours riding almost every ride and letting our inner child have fun. We’re definitely not as young as we think we are….. After a couple of hours we were exhausted! But…. you can’t come to Knotts Berry Farm and not get a Funnel Cake!

We’ll let these pictures speak for itself…..

Overall, we had such a blast at Knott’s! We can’t wait to return on our next SoCal trip. We’ll definitely be hitting up Mrs. Knotts Chicken Restaurant when we return for the World Famous Fried Chicken Dinner!
