Adios 2017 and hello 2018. We’ve made it into a new year and of course it’s time for some good ‘ol New Year’s Resolutions. Since a huge majority of you are going to put ‘getting healthy’ or ‘eating better’ as one of your resolutions, we thought ahead and compiled a list of our top 5 favorite ‘healthy’ restaurants in NYC. Don’t worry though, these places will still make your ‘gram look enviable.
When I worked in Midtown, I was lucky enough to work a couple blocks from M&V. With super delicious healthy options, you really can’t go wrong. The broccoli with honey sriracha made me believe in greens again. Pair it with a rosemary chicken thigh and you’ve got yourself a meal, dear. Their slogan also rocks: live dirty, eat clean… it might just be our new mantra for ‘18.
I usually avoid listing chains in my ‘top lists’ but Sweetgreen is just too good to pass on. Our favorite bowl at the moment is the Harvest Bowl. I’ve eaten it for lunch and then not ate the rest of the day, which says a lot. It contains organic wild rice, shredded kale, apples, sweet potatoes, roasted chicken, local goat cheese, toasted almonds, and is topped with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. 10/10 recommend.
Listing another chain and damnit, I’ve already broken one of my rules. It’s only been half a day into 2018 and I’ve listed two chains in one post. Uuuuf. Anyhow, it’s listed for a reason….. because it’s so darn good! I usually switch it up with my salads but alwaaaaaaays adding apples.. because what is a salad without apples, amiright?! They have stellar avocado toast as well – top it with some feta and lemon basil vinaigrette and you have yourself one healthy and bomb.com meal.
(PS..I don’t consider this a chain…..) I’ll have to admit……. I’ve only been here once. But that’s not to say that I haven’t gone back because I didn’t want to…. I’M JUST BUSY, YA KNOW. They just opened a new location in Rockefeller Center so now I really have no excuse not to go. I can walk there….. but it will have to wait until summer bc it’s like 10 degrees outside rn. Highly recommend the avocado pesto pasta and the classic burger. The sweet potato fries are delicious as well. Apparently they have ice cream too…. so I’d def try that, (thanks Google).
Literally anywhere! All about portion control, babes!
You can literally eat anywhere and find something healthy. Lettuce wrap that burger, order a massive protein salad, and/or find a ‘baked not fried’ option. Keep your portions in control and you’ll slay 2018. Or don’t…. because the Lord only knows I’m about to dive head first into this Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese…. and NOBODY IS JUDGING!
