Top Ice Cream Shops in NYC

Do you ever look at a massive list of ice cream flavors and get overwhelmed and not know what to order? Below is a short list of my favorite top ice cream shops in NYC at the moment with my favorite flavors… *in no particular order*

Emack and Bolio’s
Just the sight of the name makes my stomach growl for one of their mega fancy waffle cones. Cosmic Crunch in a fruit loop marshmallow cone really speaks to me on a whole other level. They have a multitude of flavors that won’t disappoint like grasshopper pie, space cake, s’moreo, and deep purple chip – just to name a few on my current rotation.

Van Leeuwen

THEY JUST OPENED IN LOS ANGELES AND I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER BECAUSE NOW I CAN GET IT ON BOTH COASTS AND I AM TYPING IN CAPS BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO FEEL MY EMOTION. The Honeycomb, Peanut Butter Marshmallow Crunch and Chocolate Banana Cream Pie flavors all have the ability to get me out of the house after I’ve already gotten in bed, taken off my makeup and put my pajamas on. They even have an extensive list of vegan flavors, if that’s your thing.

Ample Hills
Four words: Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. Just get it. However, all their flavors are the bomb.com. No joke I waited in line to get a cone for over 45 minutes on the hottest day of the year in August and it was so worth it. I’ve seen pints in the freezer section of some grocery stores so now I can eat a whole pint without waiting in line but there’s something about standing in that line and the anticipation of getting that melty creamy goodness that just excites me…

Momofuku Milk Bar
This isn’t really an ‘ice cream shop’ per se, but they have this amazing cereal milk soft serve that melts in your mouth and reminds you of those childhood days (or even this morning) when you’d slurp down the milk at the bottom of your cereal bowl. They also have these birthday cake truffle balls that are actually to die for – get them blended in a shake – thank me later.

Dessert before dinner. Always a good idea! 😁

…and so do we…. step inside and you’ll be transported to the land of hip hop and sugar… where Tupac and Biggie Smalls are sitting on steps made of chocolate bars and the streets are filled with waffle cars – no but really, get your hands on a ‘mac daddy’ or a ‘daddy mac’ and you won’t be disappointed. Ice cream stuffed between a fluffy waffle – what else could you need?
